There are men who speak in thunder,
and men who speak in smoke.
But you—
you spoke in steady things:
a door fixed,
a bill paid,
a promise kept
even when no one was watching.
You taught love the long way—
not in speeches,
but in the way your hands
learned every scar of the world
and still reached for gentleness.
You were the quiet map
I didn’t know I was following,
the compass I didn’t know I needed,
the shelter that never asked
for anything in return.
And if the years have carved lines
across your face,
they are only proof
that you carried more than your share
and never set it down.
Today, I honor the man
who showed me that strength
is not loud,
and love is not fragile,
and fathers are not forgotten
when their children finally understand
what it cost to be steady
in a world that shakes.
Happy Father’s Day
to the man who stayed.
